Welcome to Busbridge Infant School
We are a two form entry infant school, offering high quality education to boys and girls aged 4 to 7 years. Our school is situated on a large site, on the edge of an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, close to Godalming.
We work hard to provide a happy and safe learning environment – a stimulating setting where each individual is inspired and flourishes. We aim to equip all our children with the essential skills and tools that will set them on the road to lifelong success.
The culture of the school is founded on five main values:
- Care: being kind, gentle, helpful, polite, considerate.
- Ambition: trying hard, being determined, resilient, persevering, taking risks, personal motivation, application.
- Responsibility: for learning and actions, reflecting and improving, being honest and independent.
- Enjoyment: love of learning, curiosity, positivity, optimism, enthusiasm, confidence.
- Respect: for other people, as well as for property.
We benefit from terrific support and partnerships with parents, carers, our neighbours and other schools in the area. We are particularly grateful for the active role of parents through the PTA in raising valuable funds for the school, and helping to create a warm and friendly school community through a series of events throughout the year.
Do come and see for yourself – visits to the school are most welcome and we look forward to hearing from you on 01483 417 898.
Please call the office 01483 417898 to book a tour (unfortunately it may not be possible for everyone to have an appointment on the date of their first preference as we need to limit numbers on each tour).
Please also browse our website for useful information, including the Parent Handbook and the School's Newsletters.
COVID 19 UPDATE
If your child feels unwell
The school is following government guidance on COVID-19. This is summarised below:
Parents must not send their child to school if they have any of the main symptoms of coronavirus (a high temperature; a new/continuous cough; loss of or changes to your sense of smell and / or taste), however mild.
Pupils who have symptoms of COVID-19, or have had a positive lateral flow device (LFD) test, should self-isolate and get a confirmatory PCR test.
If a pupil tests negative and if they feel well, they can stop self-isolating and return to school.
If a pupil tests positive, they should continue to self-isolate in line with public health guidance.
Pupils who are a family member or a close contact of someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 do not need to self-isolate. They should instead get a PCR test, and should only self-isolate if they test positive.
Remote learning will remain in place if your child is well enough to access learning whilst self isolating.
You should also follow any guidance you are given if you are contacted through the Track & Trace scheme. We ask parents to proactively check that their children do not have any of these symptoms before sending them to school each morning. We also ask that children are not given Calpol before school, as this may mask the onset of symptoms e.g. high temperature.
What to do if your child is absent from school
If your child is absent please follow our normal procedures for reporting this.
Parents should ring the school office on 01483 417898. Alternatively e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org
Unless it is known how many days a child will be off sick, please call, or email, each day of the illness.
If the absence is COVID-19 related please mention this when you contact the school.
