Welcome to Busbridge Infant School
We are a two form entry infant school, offering high quality education to boys and girls aged 4 to 7 years. Our school is situated on a large site, on the edge of an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, close to Godalming.
The school is rated Outstanding by Ofsted, which said in its last full inspection: “Busbridge Infant school is a very special place. The whole experience is designed to help children to make the vital transition from a play-oriented environment to an academic curriculum. This is done with immense passion and care.” (Read Ofsted’s full report, and its subsequent interim report.)
We are proud of these high standards and work hard to maintain them. We provide a happy and safe learning environment – a stimulating setting where each individual is inspired and flourishes. We aim to equip all our children with the essential skills and tools that will set them on the road to lifelong success.
The culture of the school is founded on five main values:
- Care: being kind, gentle, helpful, polite, considerate.
- Ambition: trying hard, being determined, resilient, persevering, taking risks, personal motivation, application.
- Responsibility: for learning and actions, reflecting and improving, being honest and independent.
- Enjoyment: love of learning, curiosity, positivity, optimism, enthusiasm, confidence.
- Respect: for other people, as well as for property.
We benefit from terrific support and partnerships with parents, carers, our neighbours and other schools in the area. We are particularly grateful for the active role of parents through the PTA in raising valuable funds for the school, and helping to create a warm and friendly school community through a series of events throughout the year.
Do come and see for yourself – visits to the school are most welcome and we look forward to hearing from you on 01483 417 898.
GET TEACHING 2021-2022
The Godalming Learning Partnership (GLP), in partnership with Winchester University, is now recruiting its 3rd cohort of trainee teachers to start in September 2021. The one year GET Teaching Schools Direct programme provides the perfect combination of immersive classroom experience with academic study at Winchester University. Trainees teach in two primary phase schools in Godalming and surrounding areas as well as spending one day a week studying either at Winchester University or with a senior practitioner from another GLP school.
Our first successful cohort has begun teaching careers within GLP schools and elsewhere, having fully embraced virtual learning and online teaching driven by the pandemic. Our eight current trainees are back to teaching face to face and looking forward to gaining invaluable experience of the wide range of school settings we can offer them.
PARENT TOURS FOR 2021 RECEPTION INTAKE
Due to COVID-19, this year’s school tours will currently be in the form of a video tour (which will contain all the information that Mrs Smith, the Headteacher, would usually give parents). A link to the tour will be made available on request via firstname.lastname@example.org
COVID 19 UPDATE
Our school is now open to all eligible pupils. We are carefully following government and local authority guidance to ensure we offer a safe and happy environment for pupils and staff. Our risk assessment is continuously being reviewed and updated and can be viewed via the Information/Policies tab above. We have prepared a Remote Learning Contingency Plan and an updated VLE guide, which are both available to download from this website: Information/Curriculum/HomeLearning
We are grateful for all the support and patience we’ve had from the community as we work to adapt to these ever-changing and difficult circumstances. Please don’t hesitate to contact us with questions or concerns via the office – 01483 417898 or email@example.com
