Welcome to the Busbridge Infant School website.

Our school is a co-educational day school, offering education to children aged 4 to 7 years. The school is situated on a large site, on the edge of an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, close to Godalming.

'Busbridge Infant school is a very special place. The whole experience is designed to help children to make the vital transition from a play-oriented environment to an academic curriculum. This is done with immense passion and care.' Ofsted March 2007. The full 2007 report is available here and 2010 Interim Report here. We are proud of these high standards and work hard to maintain them by providing a happy and safe learning environment; creating a nurturing and stimulating setting where each individual is inspired and flourishes; and equipping all learners with the essential skills and tools that will set them on the road to lifelong success.

We support and encourage the development of key values:

Care (being kind, gentle, helpful, polite, considerate)

Ambition (trying hard, being determined, resilient, persevering, taking risks, personal motivation, application).

Responsibility (for learning and actions, reflecting and improving, being honest, independence).

Enjoyment (love of learning, curiosity, positivity, optimism, enthusiasm, confidence).

and Respect (for others as well as for property).

Infant school is the start of your child's formal education. Our staff and governors are passionate about, and committed to, ensuring your child is happy, safe, learns and grows, and is ready, by the end of Key Stage 1, for their next step to Junior School. Our vision and motto "Turning little steps into confident strides" embodies this - and is reflected in the school day, the curriculum and our school policies.

We are grateful for the support and partnership we have with parents, carers, our neighbours and other schools in the area. We are particularly grateful for the active role of parents through the PTA in raising valuable funds for the school, and helping to create a warm and friendly school community through a series of events throughout the year.

Do come and see for yourself – visits to the school are most welcome and we look forward to hearing from you (01483 417898).

Notice of works: Replacing School Windows and Playground Soakaway

Surrey are replacing the last of our wooden framed, single glazed windows over the February half term break (plus a bit before and a bit afterwards…..) The bulk of this work involves the Hall windows.  Please be advised that scaffolding will still be in place alongside the Hall upon our return on Tuesday 26th February, so those entering via the main key pad gate from Hambledon Road may wish to use the Woodpeckers ramp/steps, rather than walk under the scaffolding. It is anticipated that the scaffolding will have been removed in time for pick up.  In addition to the replacement windows, work is also due to be carried out over half term ‘fixing’ the ineffective playground soakaway so that the corner near the climbing frame will hopefully be ‘flood free’ moving forward.

ADVERSE WEATHER ARRANGEMENTS:
We do all we can to keep the school open, however the safety of children and staff is our prime consideration.  Any decision to close would be based on a range of factors including site safety, the condition of access roads and staff being able to get into school and also home again. We will only communicate with you if the school is to be closed and, if we are unable to open, we will aim to do so by 7.30am if possible. School closure information will be posted on the school website, Local eagle964 radio, school answerphone message and notified via an eSchools’ text or email. If school has to close early or we need to cancel events such as Parents’ Evenings, this will also be communicated through an eSchools’ text or email.

Please remember to bring suitable clothes for wintry weather - warm, waterproof coat, gloves, hat and wellies (all named please), as well as a pair of school shoes to wear inside.
